Salka Knits

Brand identity and e-commerce website design for an Edinburgh based luxury knitwear business.

(01) Creative Direction Concept

The client felt their high quality, luxurious product wasn’t being accurately represented in their brand identity. I started by collecting moodboard images with a luxury look and feel to them, to set the tone for the new premium brand identity.

Collage of images related to yarn and knitting, including wrapped yarn balls, a stack of multicolored sweaters, color palette swatches, a book titled 'House of Threads,' a photo of yarns in soft pink, gray, mustard yellow, a small pile of folded sweaters, and an outdoor scene with trees and sunset.

(02) Logo

Salka Knits specialises in offering luxurious woollen goods that are meticulously spun from the finest Alpaca or Llama wools. The flowing lines in the wordmark logo is reflective of these threads of wool.

Logo for Salka Knits with elegant brown text on a light beige background.

The palette is premium in nature but also soft and inviting like a woollen jumper.

(03) Colour Palette

A color palette of four circular swatches labeled Bronze, Gold, Beige, and Sage Green, each with their CMYK, RGB, and HEX color codes.

The cleanliness of the gotham typeface married well with the bespoke wordmark logo.

(04) Typography

A presentation slide with the heading 'Ethically handmade, artisan knitwear' in large bold font, including subheadings, a paragraph of placeholder text, and decorative line art on a beige background.

Again the bespoke icons are similar to lines of thread, continuing this brand element throughout for a cohesive feel.

(05) Iconography

Illustration featuring a llama, a sprig of eucalyptus, a shopping bag, a ball of yarn with knitting needles, a star, and a paper airplane.

(06) Brand Assets

Clothing tags, a shopping bag, boxed packaging and a Shopify E-Commerce store.
