Tip of the day: people are going to judge you anyway, so you may as well live your truth regardless
I think that self-employment is one of the many channels through which a person can fully express themselves and live their truth.
They’ve said goodbye to the traditional route of earning money and have instead opted to take the less well-travelled path of doing something that truly lights them up.
But that doesn’t mean it’s all sunshine and roses. It’s just as hard as a 9-5, but in a different way. A way that means it’s not a middle-aged man named Barry that you have to wait to approve your holiday requests. Yep, I picked my battles wisely there.
Anyway – back to my point. You can feel very EXPOSED being self-employed, in my opinion. Especially with social media, it can feel like the whole world is waiting for you to fail, and without a colleague to lean on too!
This feeling of being exposed can cause you to hold yourself back and dilute yourself to play it safe. But it’s the founders and businesses that live their truth, values and express them boldly that really CONNECT and stay in the hearts of their audiences! And yes, that will involve turning some off – which is ok - because if you speak to everyone, you speak to no-one.
